Mesozoic Era 252 MYA- 66 MYA The Mesozoic Era was very cool and known as the “Age of reptiles” or “ Middle Life” The climate was warmer than it is today. It was so warm there were no ice caps. There were some temp swings but only from Pangea. The climate was different than today. The location and shape of the continents during this era is how they are during modern day. Pangea went through a mass split and went into modern continents. The landforms were mostly based on ocean changes. The modern day oceans evolved and they became deeper. At the end of the Mesozoic Era all the continents were out of Pangea and into the modern place There were many animal and plant life existing during the Mesozoic Era. There was the Iguanodon, the Triceratops, and Coniferous plants. These animal and plants were the largest out of all earlier Eras.
Not much animal life changed throughout the Era. The T-Rex started to rule and massive lizards evolved. All Of these animals would vanish soon forever. At the end of the Era something awful happened. There was the Great Extinction. It wiped out 95% of sea life and 70% of land life. It all happened for a reason though.
